My Top 3 Priorities

  • Education- I am going to work on a statewide Secondary Education push, lets bring up the next great generation of Americans right here in California, training the most well-rounded students, with access to emerging technologies "From K-14".
  • Incarceration / Over-incarceration- Our common foe, a bad idea combined with bad timing. Lets stop making it a permanent situation unless there are actual people being hurt or in harm's way okay.
  • Jobs, jobs, jobs- Every politician talks about jobs, but not many of them can actually point to real world experience with making any or even having one. I can!

Biography

St. Louis northsider, Steve Hill, has, throughout his life, acquired knowledge and experience as an African American man that began life in poverty. After graduating high school in 1979, Steve continued the family tradition by enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. Once he completed his five years of service, having earned the rank of Sergeant (E-5), he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the aerospace industry. With nearly a decade dedicated to aerospace, Steve, then, opted to make a difference in a new, and arguably more challenging, way by becoming part of the California Department of Corrections.

Ten years and 2 maximum security prisons later, Steve assumed responsibility for student and faculty safety as the campus supervisor and made another major career change to real estate appraisal. Taking the opportunity of a vocational fresh start, and the real estate boom of the early 2000s, Steve established his own company, Anaverde Appraisal, in the Antelope Valley in northern LA county.

Having been a witness to the mortgage meltdown and the ongoing Wall Street corruption, as well as the underrepresentation for the working class families of America,Steve became a voice for the censored and suppressed via one of the purest form of sociopolitical commentary, comedy.

Utilizing his ability to induce laughter and joy, he opened minds to uncomfortable, yet highly important issues in a way that allows the people to address and acknowledge these problems in a dialogue conducive environment, as is the tradition of the comedian throughout the centuries.

Continuing to honor his oath to protect the nation, the constitution, and the people against all enemies, foreign and domestic, Marine Corps veteran and sociopolitical activist and small business owner Steve Hill has chosen to step up and take on the status quo with his campaign Steve Hill for Senate 2016.

Political Beliefs

Sending anyone to jail or even bogging down the judicial system with unnecessary and harmful social policing has run a muck for too long.

End the war on citizens and end the failed war on drugs.  Start treating people for mental heath, drug addiction or social ills, instead of using the jail system.  People from all walks of life, from the medical profession to the everyday mom, even the politicians are starting to wake to the fact that we are over incarcerating people at the lower end of the social and economic ladder.

Access to the best education available is every parents desire, and it is achievable with proper attention and care.

The bloat at the top must end and the Department of Education must return money and power back to the states maintaining oversight and reporting powers only with a larger public stake.

I am going to work on a statewide Secondary Education push, lets bring up the next great generation of Americans right here in California, training the most well-rounded students, with access to emerging technologies "From Junior High, Through College".

I am a small business owner of a real estate appraisal company here in Palmdale, where I live work and play with my family.

Believe me when I say I want to get the harmful practices of special favorites Out Of My Town and Out Of My State.  No more keeping business and their potential down, just to propagate the same old 'business as usual' at the state house.  Small business and start ups are our life blood, it is unwise to turn our backs on them now.
