My Top 3 Priorities

  • Transparency and accountability to voters in L.A. County
  • Increased engagement in local elections
  • Creating a pipeline for future Democratic Party activisits

For the last years I've been active and involved in building capacity and bring resources for local neighborhood initiatives.  As a Field Organizer for Organizing for America, I held phone banks and local events for the 2012 presidential election in my neighborhood.  Through that work I began my involvement with the Neighbrohood Council system in Los Angeles and joined my local democratic club.  My work was very rewarding and I saw how the most organized neighborhoods in LA had influence on the priorities set by local politicians.  This is when I founded an Alliance of 14 Neighborhood Councils along the LA River and we began work on identifying priorities that mattered most to our neighborhoods.  During this time I also became a founding member of a progressive Democratic club on LA's east side, and now serve as its secretary.

I also currently manage nearly $2million in federally funded emplyment and training programs to help job seekers build their skills and achieve employment.  That money funds a resource center and staff to help job seekers and business connect. My work is rewarding because I'm able to contribute to innovative programs that connect all kinds of people to good jobs, with fair wages and an opportunity to join the middle class.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I care about clean air, clean jobs and clean government.  I also believe that no one who works 40 hours a week should be living in poverty.  I want to see investments from local, state and federal government in transit, affordable housing, health care, and the infrastructure for full integration of renewable energy resources for residential, commercial, and transportation uses.
