Biography

In 2012, Williams was re-elected to the County Committee for a fourth term.  He is a member of the Candidate Interview Committee. Prior to his election to the County Committee in 2006, Harold Williams served the California Democratic Party over 20 years at the grass roots level as a member of several democratic clubs.  He is a life member of the New Frontier Democratic Club and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Democratic Club.  By virtue of being Chair of the then 55th ADC through the Democratic State Central Committee (DSCC), he was an ex-officio member of the County Central Committee from 1994-2003.  During that period, he kept his commitment to the Party . . . to align with the mission and vision of the Democratic Party.

In 1997, he was recognized for his outstanding service and dedication to the party; and chosen Male Democrat of the Year in 2002. Williams wants to continue to help lead the 64th ADC into the 21st Century as a change agent of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party Central Committee.

He distinguished himself by being elected as a Council Member for the City of Carson from 2004-2009.  In November 2014, Williams was elected to the West Basin Municipal Water District Board of Directors to represent the city of Carson, the four PV Peninsula cities, and areas of Rancho Dominguez near Compton.  Currently, he serves as Vice President of the Board.

Political Beliefs

Williams remains committed to the Los Angeles County Democratic Party Central Committee to fight for: raising the minimum wage, increasing funding for local schools, creating good middle class jobs and decent affordable housing. Equally important, improving neighborhood security and combating crime
