DETAIL:

 

MMS Design Associates (MMS) is a consulting firm which for over 30 years has provided development-based services to cities, public agencies, and private sector clients.  MMS specializes in large, complex projects involving major infrastructure analysis, funding, financing, long-range planning and design, construction, and contract administration.

 

McGill Martin Self, Inc (also MMS) was part of Contra Costa Water District Los Vaqueros project team that was awarded the ASCE 1999 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement.

 

Central Contra Costa Sanitary District’s (CCCSD) mission is to protect public health and the environment by collecting and treating wastewater, recycling water for reuse and promoting pollution prevention.  CCCSD has now been awarded 16 National Association of Clean Water Agencies’ Peak Performance Platinum Awards and the California Water Environment Association Large Treatment Plant of the Year Award for 2008 and 2012 and Collection System of the Year for 2007 and 2012. In addition the District was awarded its13th consecutive Certificate for Excellence in Financial Reporting; the District won awards for its Safety Program from the California Water Environment Association (CWEA) and the Water Environment Foundation (WEF); the National Purchasing Institute’s annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award; both the Sustainable Design and People’s Choice Awards from the Walnut Creek Action for Beauty Council for the District’s new Collection System Operations facility; and the Transparency Certificate of Excellence from the California Special Districts Association.

 

Contra Costa County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) is established in each county to be responsible for overseeing most forms of local government boundary change, including incorporation, annexations, and special district formations.

 

The California Association of Local Agency Formation Commissions (CALAFCO) is established to: 1) Arrange and conduct periodic meetings for the purpose of educating members and the public as to the powers and responsibilities of LAFCOs; 2) Arrange for the exchange of information among local agency formation commissions and represent the views of the Corporation before the legislative and executive branches of state government; 3) Review and/or initiate proposed legislation affecting local agency formation commissions; 4) Coordinate and collaborate with other local government organizations or similar associations in furtherance of these purposes.

 

National University System, including John F. Kennedy University (JFKU), National University, City University of Seattle and WestMed College, meets the changing needs of diverse student populations with multiple pathways to reach educational goals.  In addition to JFKU and National University, there are five other affiliated institutions located around the world.  Mike McGill was a Regent of JFKU from 1989 to 2009 and served as Board Chair from 1998 to 2005.  After JFKU’s affiliation with the National University System, Mr. McGill was elected a Trustee of the National University System and all affiliated institutions.

 

The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County (WDB) is a 41-member, business-led body whose members are appointed by the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors to shape and strengthen local and regional workforce development efforts. The WDB brings together leaders from business, economic development, education, labor, community-based organizations, and public agencies to align a variety of resources and organizations to enhance the competitiveness of the local workforce and support economic vitality in our region.
