I am an active community leader, a successful business executive, and a technologist by background. I emigrated from Pakistan in my early 20s and moved to San Ramon in 2006 as a single parent with my two children, then aged four and nine years old. I did not yet have a job or a home, and chose San Ramon for its safe community, diverse neighborhoods, and one of the best public school districts in the country. I see myself as a classic example of the American dream – I have worked hard to achieve success and prosperity through determination, and initiative to build a better life for myself and my children. I am proud to be a long-time resident of San Ramon and wholeheartedly committed to giving back to my city and making a difference for the community I am so passionate about.

I was appointed to the San Ramon Valley Transportation Advisory Committee in 2015 and I am also a member of the San Ramon Dougherty Valley Rotary Club. I am a member of the San Ramon Valley Leadership program, which provides current and emerging community leaders with the necessary skills to lead this diverse City. I am also a graduate of Emerge California program that trains progressive women to run for office.

As a parent, I have volunteered actively with the PTA and Girl Scouts of Northern California, and am widely recognized for my efforts to bring the community together. I extensively volunteer with community projects. I am also affiliated with Women in Tech and Women Who Code organizations promoting the growth of women in the field of technology.

Presently, I lead the Solutions Architecture & Sales Engineering for an Internet Software and Cloud Infrastructure Company. I hold a degree in Computer and Information Sciences from the University of South Alabama.

I am dedicated to serving my community as a citizen, a mother, as an immigrant and as a technologist.

Political Philosophy

I am a progressive that strongly believes in fair immigration policies, a woman's right to choose and equal rights for all. Government should make decions based on community and social reponsibility. I am a strong believer in equity, fainess demands remedies to redress historic injustices. I am strongly in support of gun control and saving our childrens live from mass murders. Our tax dollars need to be spent on educating children at an earlier age rather than building jails for them later. It is the govenment's responsibily to provide universal healthcare and affordable housing for it's citizens. We need a reasonable paid family leave for working mothers and fathers. Most of all we as citizens need to curb the hate and suspicion that is creeping into our society & communities by working towards cultural assimilation.
