I believe corporate and lobbyist money and interests have subverted our democratic processes. I believe we must move to public funding of elections. We must quit wasting money on increasingly expensive campaigns for what are supposed to be public service positions.

Political Philosophy

I will promote the devlopment of active Democratic Clubs in the 3rd Supervisorial District. I will work with local city councils, school boards, and officials to communicate the issues and needs of the citizens.

My wife and I organized and hosted the e-BART Forum where we brought in representative from BART and the California Transit Authority to try to justify their decisions to only provide diesel trains to the citizens of East Contra Cost County for the BART extension the citizens have been paying for the past 50 years.

We need to do what we can to reduce the congestion on ur roads, the pollutions goind into our atmosphere, and the time wasted in traffic. We need to look at alterniatives to commuting. Our county and city leaders need to convince communications companyies to provide high speed internet to the removte (and therefore, less profitable) communities of the county and state. This would aid people in many ways: children in their studies, doctors in diagnosing ailments, and operation of businesses large and small.

Our city and county leaders must develop contact and processes to bring employment to the East County communities. But, they must be more than just retail and restaurant jobs. Our citizens need "careers" and not just "jobs". They need to be able to save for their retirement, buy homes, and educate their children.
