My Top 3 Priorities

  • Restore civility and respect to the Board of Trustees. The recent conflicts at the Board level prompted us to enter this campaign and if elected will promote collaboration and concensus building as goal #1
  • Place the focus of the Morgan Hill Unified School District Board of Education toward the students of our District and ensure they receive a high quality pubic school education
  • I want to provide our students with an equitable and rigorous academic program that includes art, music, career tech, athletics, extracurricular activites

Biography

Ms. Torrisi has worked to supportchildren of all grade levels within the District for 34 years. Her primary assignment was to support Special Education Students

As a Special Education Paraeducator in Morgan Hill for 34 years and

longtime resident, running for school board is a next step to continuing

my commitment to our community.  My son attended MHUSD grades K-12.

Throughout my career I worked with students at every grade level and

taught in Adult Education. I served as President of the district classified

employees and in other leadership roles.  I have the knowledge and

experience to understand what students need to succeed. I will advocate

and promote an equitable, rigorous academic program including art,

music, career tech, athletics, extra-curricular activities and inclusion for

all children. Our district must continue to challenge itself to provide the

best education for 21st century learners. I participated in the district's

LCAP funding process that requires input from parents, teachers,

administration and community members. Many promising changes such

as, focus academies, dual immersion programs, upgraded technology,

school renovation and construction, a new employee evaluation system

are steps to ensure that we create a budget and policies that prioritize

maximum resources to support children in the classroom. As a board

member I will strive to create consensus within our board, community,

and educators throughout decision-making processes.
