My Top 3 Priorities

  • Registering voters in poor areas of the county
  • Educating voters on the process of voting, candidates and intiatives
  • Set up training for the next generation of community organizers

I am a graduate of California State University at Sacramento where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications. I retired after 31 years of service in the California State Assembly and Senate.

For over three decades I worked with the capitol media and on political campaigns in almost every corner of the state. I am also involved with several voter outreach organizations committed to registering and educating qualified voters in the state of California.

President Pro Tempore, Senator Darrell Steinberg- Sacramento, CA

2011 - 2014

-     Worked directly with the Pro Tem and District Office Director to develop proactive outreach strategies to maximize his exposure to almost 1 million constituents

-     Served as the Pro Tem’s point person in meetings with constituents, neighborhood associations, nonprofits, local businesses, elected officials and their staff, city, county, state, federal agencies and school districts

-     Attended, spoke or presented awards at district banquets, board meetings, rallies, press conferences, strategy sessions and conferences

-     Advised the Pro Tem on effective ways to respond to constituent issues

-     Performed tasks as requested

Assembly Speaker’s Office of Member Services, Sacramento, CA

1983 - 1/1/2011

-     Under Speaker Willie L. Brown, Jr. I built a media unit for the Speaker’s Office of Member Services

-     The SOMS Media Unit, which consists of television, radio and still photography constituent outreach services, has become the model for the Senate Democrats Media Unit, the Senate Republicans Media Unit and the Assembly Republicans Media Unit

-     Developed proactive communication programs designed to maximize positive exposure of Assemblymembers in their home districts

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

After 31 years of working with the media, legislature, and political campaigns I learned the importance of every citizen’s voice, and made it my calling to register and educate voters in the State of California.  In 2015 I founded a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of concerned Californians from all walks of life who wish to see everyone young and not so young exercise their right to vote. Using that model of internet, written and grassroots communication I then went on to create New California Voters to teach people that non-voters are silenced voters, and reminded them that all voices and opinions matter. We taught participation at the ballot box could have a significant impact on the outcome of many races and initiatives and how California is governed.
