I am excited about the future! Which is why I am running for the Sacramento County Board of Education (SCOE) District 4 Seat, and asking for your support. MY PASSION IS EDUCATION, the best tool that we have to help our children succeed and prosper.
In 2014, I was appointed by San Juan USD board member Paulo to serve on the San Juan district's Finance, Transportation and Facilities Committee. As a member of the FT & F Committee, I have worked hard to become knowledgeable on some of the most important issues facing our schools. As a community business leader, and parent, l have the unique perspective to fight for more support for students, teachers and schools.
My wife, an elementary school librarian in the San Juan Unified School District, and I have three children -- two have graduated and one is a high school Junior in the San Juan Unified School District.
I have worked hard to serve our community and the kids in our region. In this race, I am honored to have the support and endorsements of San Juan Unified School Board Members Greg Paulo and Saul Hernandez, Citrus Heights City Council Members Sue Frost and Mel Turner and Sacramento County Supervisor Susan Peters among many others.
From my experience as a father, business owner, educator, coach, community volunteer, I have been devoted to bringing about positive change and to give the next generation of students the best tools to compete in a changing world.
My wife and I love our community and my work on the SCOE board would be a continuation of the service that I have performed for our schools and other boards.
I will continue to develop relationships with parents, teachers and students, visit schools and listen to your concerns and ideas so that every student can achieve. Thank you for your consideration and I would be honored to have your vote.
Signed,
Michael Alcalay
