My Top 3 Priorities

  • My top priority in running for this office is to be a representative voice for ALL stakeholders that have a vested interest in the constant and continuous improvement of academic outcomes of all Romoland students.
  • Classrooms: I am highly supportive of educational programs that involve the teaching of digital citizenship, a STEM-based curriculum for all students, personalized learning environments, and GATE.
  • Facilities: I am a big believer in providing 21st century learning environments (e.g. technology, maker spaces) and modern facilities.

Profession:Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene, Director of the Dental Hygiene Program, Moreno Valley College
Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene, Moreno Valley College (2011–current)
Director, Dental Hygiene Program, Moreno Valley College (2016–current)

Pepperdine University Master of Arts, Learning Technologies (2013)
Northern Arizona University Bachelor of Science, Dental Hygiene (2010)

I am a full-time educator. I am an Associate Professor of Dental Hygiene at Moreno Valley College, as well as the Director of the Dental Hygiene Program there. I am dedicated to the academic and life success of the students enrolled in the dental hygiene program.I know first-hand of the value of the education students receive in this program, as 10 years ago I was a graduate of the very same program that I now direct. After working for a number of years in private practice, I began my education career as a part-time instructor (while still working full-time in private practice) and eventually made the transition to full-time faculty member.

Academically, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene degree from Northern Arizona University, and a Master of Arts in Learning Technologies degree from Pepperdine University. My Pepperdine experience provided me with a rich understanding of the potential that digital technologies have in educating people, and I am encouraged by the direction of Romoland’s dedication to providing students with access to digital tools. As a board member, I want to continue to encourage growth in this area, as well as improving the pedagogy of these technology-rich environments.
