My Top 3 Priorities

  • To ensure that Public Safety and Law Enforcement, including Placer County Sheriff's Department, District Attorney and Probation Department have the necessary resources and staff they need to keep our communities safe.
  • To ensure that Placer County has balanced budgets and that programs that require ongoing funding are sustainable and to continue to increase reserves to avoid serious cutbacks in services to citizens in the event of an economic downturn.
  • To continue paying down Placer County's liabilities regarding retiree health care costs and employee pension obligations.

It has been my honor to serve as the District 3 Supervisor for the past eleven years.  I have proven to be an accessible and approachable elected official and participate in numerous events in the county throughout the year.

I am a fifth-generation Placer County native and want to continue protecting our heritage by promoting agriculture and preserving agricultural lands.  I owned and operated a small business fior twenty-eight years.  I know how hard small business owners must work and I bring that knowledge and experience to this office.

I have served the people of Placer County as a Fire District Director and School Board Trustee.  I also serve on the Board of the Auburn Salvation Army and the Gathering Inn, an organization that provides meals and shelter to the homeless population.

I have direct experience dealing with issues concerning small business, agriculture, family, schools, community and public safety.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

It has always been my policy to work toward consensus on the many issues facing our communities in Placer County.  I have always, and will continue, to meet with staff members, elected officials of other government agencies and County residents to hear concerns and work for consensus solutions to all problems facing the County.  I am on numerous subcommittees that meet regularly with elected officials from Auburn, Rocklin and Loomis.  I listen to the concerns and interests of these cities to help inform my own thinking and problem-solving.  I very frequently attend community events, forums and activities in the communities I represent.  Listening to concerns and working toward consensus solutions to challenges is the point of a democracy and the way governance is meant to work.  It is the way I work.
