Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

My name is Richard L. Duquette.  I am a lifelong proud Democrat, and resident of North San Diego County since 1982.  I have been married for 22 years with a daughter, who just received her Master’s Degree in Family Counseling.

I spend my time volunteering for community based causes like: helping veterans, participating in Democratic based activities, sponsoring and participating in sporting events for all ages like forming a free running group, bicycling, triathlons, swimming, camping, surfing and kayaking, beach clean ups.  I support a clean and safe environment.

I have owned and operated my own boutique law firm since 1983, employing local residents.  So, I am fiscally responsible.  I put my legal skills to use helping the diverse working middle class and poor, as well as to improve our community.

My political activism includes, but is not limited to: An access to “public records” case heard by the United States Supreme Court, a Judicial “financial bias” case that was partially published in the Court of Appeals, a writ in the Appellate Division allowing clients to “appear through their attorneys”, so as to save them from missing work and school, a civil settlement with a National City Bus Transit Company that required “bus-bicycle safety training program”, protested “development on a local lagoon”.
