Political Philosophy

I have been asked by many friends why I am running for a seat on Paradise Unified School District board of Trustee, (PSUD Board Member).

As for my platform there are many parts to it. I did place a candidate statement on the ballot. I stand for safe, healthy and technology advanced classrooms. I have zero tolerance for unacceptable behavior, be it by parents, teachers, administrators, qualified employees or students. I want to remove any obstacle that gets between a student's achievement. I am a fiscal conservative and know what it takes to run a balanced budget after 16 years of running my veterinary clinic. I want to be a voice for the stakeholders in the district and provide transparency to the boards decisions and actions. I have a deep fondness for educators and need their input and support in getting what classrooms need to get our children jobs or higher forms of education after leaving the PUSD system. I respect all forms of education be it Charter School, Private School or Home School, but feel strongly that the PUSD schools need to be the best fit for all children.

With that said the main reason I am running is that I want my children and the other children in our community to have the best school district we can get them. It will create a better community overall.

I have the endorsement of TAP (local teachers union). I have sat as the President of my children's Site Council at Cedarwood Elementary for 4 years. I take our education system seriously as it is the way we build our future, not only as a community but as a nation of citizens competing in a global economy.

I will honor your vote by being the change our school board needs.
