Sou J. Vang
Member, City Council City of Oroville
Occupation: Business Owner/Franchisee

In my youth I dedicated myself to my academics. I went to San Jose State University then transferred to the University of the District of Columbia at Washington, D.C. earning myself a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Along the way I aided with the lobbying against the repatriation of Hmong refugees from Thailand to Laos.

My family and I moved to Oroville in 2002 and I started my own small business. My small business has been running for 14 years gaining me experience with effective communication and customer service skills, self-reliance, resilience, as well as self-reflection and humility, and the leadership to build relationships and make critical decisions. I have also volunteered at the Jesus Center in Chico and the Hope Center in Oroville helping the homeless community. If elected as a city council member, I will focus on bringing in more job opportunities, protecting the values of our citizens, and increasing safety in our community.

If elected, I will dedicate my voting for the better of our City of Gold.
