My Top 3 Priorities

  • Ensure reliable supply of high quality water at reasonable prices for all persons in the district
  • Oversee staff operations to ensure decisions meet the needs of the customers
  • Manage sources of pollution to the water supply and environment

I teach cultural anthropology, since 2001. I enjoy attending community and cultural events. I served as an elected official and on a non-profit board and staff, and I occasionally participate as a citizen in the public decision-making process for local issues.

Political Beliefs

My political philosophy is well summed up in the maxim "trust but verify".

Robin Huffman
Director, Paradise Irrigation District, Division 1

I am running for Director on the Paradise Irrigation District because of my interest in water. I will bring knowledge, ideas, experienced oversight and balance to the board. I’ve been a customer of PID since 1989 when my husband and I made Paradise home.

As Director my priorities will be to continue PID’s good work and most especially to keep the price of water down. Water should be cheap to encourage small farming businesses, and residents who like to garden should be able to continue to enjoy that hobby without worrying about the cost of water.

I was elected and served on the Paradise Town Council from 2004-2008. My ongoing desire is to help keep and improve the balance with nature in our town and country.

My work history is solid. I am Associate Faculty teaching anthropology. I’ve also worked as Advocacy Director for a local environmental non-profit, office lead for a Paradise church, and executive secretary. I enjoy doing research and collaborating with people to resolve issues.

Elect me and I will work diligently for you as a PID Director, bringing positive ideas and making sure we protect our environment while having plentiful quality water at a low price.
