Experience

Biography

I was born and raised in Shasta County.  When I was born, my family lived in Igo.  At six years of age, my family moved to Lakehead to run a campground.  At twelve, we moved to Cottonwood to live in the country.  My father started Hunt's Electric Motors in Redding and even though he is retired now, Hunt's Electric is still serving the community on Larkspur Lane.  At eighteen, I moved to downtown Los Angeles to attend college and obtain my Bachleor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and start my teaching career.  After seven and a half years in LA, I would move back to Shasta County and settle in Anderson to attend Simpson University and obtain my Teaching Credentials and Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I would teach for fourteen years before feeling lead to pursue growth in business management.  I have served on the Federal Grand Jury in Sacramento in 2005-06.  We signed 200 indictments on immigration, embezzlement, felons in possession of firearms, to child pornography and terrorism.  I am now a realtor in Shasta County.  I love serving, helping, problem solving, and networking!  I have served on the Anderson City Council since 2007 and have loved serving the residents of Anderson.  With your support, I will continue to work hard at keeping Anderson as a leader in the Northstate.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I love to serve.  Some people get into office because they have an ax to grind with someone or someplace.  I do not.  I love to serve and I so desire to be the voice of the people.  As a former teacher, I not only love to learn but love history.  I spent nine years teaching state history and grew to love Sacramento and all the history and politics it stood for.  I love when a resident calls or emails me with a question or problem that they need help with solving.  Anderson is not the place it was in 2007.  It is a shining star in the Northstate.  We have lead the county in regulating the growing of Medicinal Marijuana, the regulating of the sale of Butane canisters that individuals use in Butane Honey Oil Labs that are so dangerous to our residents, and the passing of the Public Safety Measure that have put four more officers on the streets of Anderson already!  I am an advocate for not only children with support and fundraising but an advocate for Veterans, Seniors, and animals.  I created an award winning fundraiser  I called Melissa On The Roof where I would spend 27+ hours on the Roof of Mary's Pizza Shack in Anderson in order to raise funds for One Safe Place, Women's Refuge, CASA, Plus One Mentors, Dancing With The Stars Shasta County Style, Haven Humane, and Anderson Police Department K-9 Unit.  I have served on local boards like Haven Humane, Redding Area Bus Authority, and the Joshua Munns and Chad Regelin Memorial Bench Fund to name a few.  I have also been the Liason for the City of Anderson to the League of California Cities in Sacramento.  While there, I have served as Chair and Vice Chair of the Community Services Policy Committee and I am now on the Public Safety Policy Committee.  I have also spent time serving as the Representative to Region One for the Sacramento Valley Division for the League and I just finished up my time as 2nd Vice President and will now start my year at 1st Vice President of the Sacramento Valley Division of the League of CA Cities.  I continue to see the importance to show up and speak up so not only the City of Anderson but the Northstate has a voice in Sacramento.  With your support I will continue to be your voice in the City of Anderson and in Sacramento for small cities and the Northstate.
