My Top 3 Priorities

  • Equity in Education: Ensure all students are college, career and community ready. Experienced teachers will provide safe and secure learning environments. Continuted investment in the Office of Equity to strengthen urban educators and students.
  • Student Achievement: Schools equipped to meet students essential social, emotional and academic needs. Increasing access to personalized, well rounded education that includes arts, world language. Early kindergarten programs at every school site.
  • Fiscal Solvency and Health in OUSD is foundational to delivering the mission. Improve infrastructure not sexy but essential. Ensure efficiency of resources for low income, foster, english language learners and special needs students.



Jumoke was inspired by raising 4 children in West Oakland to found and direct the Parent Leadership and Engagment Academy Initiative. As District 3 Director Jumoke has been instrumental in authoring policies in Restorative Justice and supported establishment of the Departmern of African Ameircan Achievemnet. This body of work has gained national recognition across urban school districts, US Department of Education and the WHite House. This work has inspired OUSD Equty Policy to ensure all students will be embraced for their diversity and taught with high expectations. The Office of Equity is curretnly being developed and will focus on initiatives for Latino males, African American girls and the Asian Pacific Islander population within OUSD. 

Jumoke is the daughter of a life-long teacher and public health work. Jumoke is a true community builder and has done service on civic commission cross sectors in the City of Oakland: West Oakland  Project Area Committee (equitable developemnt)  and Commissioner for the Oaklnd Children and Youth Planning and Oversight Committee, and pass Chair of the Councl of Great City Schools, national voice for urban education. Jumoke recieved her Bachelor's degree in English and Black Studies from Oberlin College.
