My Top 3 Priorities

  • Reconstruction - To reconstruct the BART system tracks and stations to return BART to a state of good repair immediately and expediently.
  • Transparency - Incorporating neutral transparency as a tenant of BART values, using technology to increase public visibility of BART and encourage citizen engagement
  • Wayfinding/Information hub - making BART a hub of transit information for the Bay Area would increase value for BART and station agents and benefit transit for the whole bay area.

Biography

A Sacramento native I didn't have great public transit and still choose not to learn to drive, the light rail and buses facinated me. I went to Fresno State where I changes majors twice and ended with a particularly average GPA. I now work as a Web Programmer in the Bay Area and use my skills in my off time working on transit web projects and helping others to getting around using transit. I've grown to enjoy taking public transit and I've done many trips most don't believe you can do by public transit. A core reason I moved to the bay area was to take advantage of accessibility of the Bay Area Rapid Transit system to get me home late at night, to take me to the corners of the Bay and get me and the rest of Bay Area to work.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I'm a business graduate so I believe government could do with inheriting business qualities. To me the Government is a corporation...  It shouldn't one scheming to take advantage of customers while also screwing over employees but it should be one devoted to its shareholders = The Taxpaying Public and one toward supporting its employees, all whom are taxpayer shareholders in their own right. But adopting some business values wouldn't be bad - having checks and balances, always looking for cost savings and cutting expenses, eliminating bad processes are all business values that would benefit our US and local governments. My favorite ideology is Kaizen -  japanese for continuous improvement. I mostly want our government and BART to inherit this trait so that they never lose sight that continuous improvement for the product/service(BART) and creating value for shareholders/taxpayers is the goal.
