My Top 3 Priorities

  • I support public safety in our community. I want to find ways to improve our fire service and give tools to our officers to fight crime.
  • We have a proud tradition of being fiscally responsible. My goal is to maintain that, and also make sure our City is ready for the next downturn in our economy
  • Economic development is key to our future. Not only do I want to bring in new jobs, I also want to create new jobs from within our city. An inside out approach

Political Philosophy

John is one of the bright, energetic leaders Brentwood has been fortunate to find in their midst. He defines what we are all hoping for in a community leader. Currently in his 4th term on the Planning Commission, John Fink brings unique depth and experience as a candidate for our City Council. He understands the balance of fiscal responsibility and meeting the constant high growth challenges of our City.  More importantly, John Fink is passionate, in every conversation, about keeping Brentwood a vibrant, yet safe home for all of us. In the last 12 years, John has served as a Planning Commissioner, a Member and President of Brentwood Rotary, A volunteer for our Police Department, a Member and President of Heritage High’s Parents Club Board of Directors, and served on numerous committees including the American Avenue Task Force, Brentwood’s Chamber of Commerce, and the Harvest Time Festival.

Fiscal responsibility is absolutely important in John’s viewpoint. He is up to that challenge and responsibility. The City has funded a new library, a new police dispatch center, and somehow we’ll need to meet the needs confronting the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District. These are critical needs, but we also need to maintain our 30% reserve in the general fund. These are not easy goals, so electing an energetic person like John already experienced from Day 1 should be your first choice as well. Brentwood is already great, now let’s get to the next level.
