Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I have proudly served on the Hercules City Council since 2011 and twice as the Mayor. When I became a councilman in 2011 Hercules was facing financial problems and total collapse of our city structure. I and other members of three different councils have been able to restore Hercules. Hercules finances now have three months of operational reserves, we have been able to reinstate some of the payroll concessions that our employees gave to help with the financial problems.

I am asking for your vote so I can complete what I have started. I want to see Market Hall site become the Safeway store with a Safeway fuel station; completion of Sycamore Crossings with retail and similar type building to match Aventine and completion of the Capital Corridor Railroad station at Bayfront. The cities of Hercules and Pinole have started the reconstruction of our wastewater plant and that should be completed in the next 30 months. Our financial problems are stabilizing and I would like to give my guidance to restore our fiscal stability. This would include reinstating our employees pay and hours. Hercules has received state funds to hire at least two new police officers and I want to be part of the process to making sure we can keep the new officers we hire. This means finding new revenue sources.
