My Top 3 Priorities

  • Expand home ownership for all residents, and protect renters
  • Promote healthy, sustainable developments and local jobs
  • Organize a campaign for “A Community Hospital for Richmond” with universal health care coverage

In the last decade, we have watched Richmond grow safer and healthier. Nevertheless, many of our families continue to struggle, and I want to advance Richmond’s progressive transformation for all its residents.

We need to defeat the Republican presidential candidate and reject hatred toward women, people of color, and immigrants. At the same time, as Senator Bernie Sanders urges, we need to transform the politics of the nation by building new progressive leadership at the local level. I am ready.

I was born and raised in Richmond, and I attended local schools. For six years I have worked as a Community Organizer with Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE). I defend homeowners from the greed of banks and speculators. I help tenants whose rents are skyrocketing.

I demand health care for all our residents and mobilize communities of color to benefit from local developments, advocating that work be done by unionized labor. I have opposed Chevron’s pollution, and supported the preservation of open shorelines.

I served as a Richmond Planning Commissioner (2012-2014) and I am familiar with government protocols and policies. In 2013 I was honored to receive the 17th annual “Mario Savio Young Activist Award.”

I don’t accept campaign money from corporations or developers. My loyalty is only to the voters. I am endorsed by Vice-Mayor Eduardo Martinez, and Council members Gayle McLaughlin and Jovanka Beckles.

I will represent all the people of Richmond with integrity and humility.

Homes, Health, Jobs and Justice for Richmond!
