Candidate Statement

Summary

My candidate Statement reflects my overall goals for San Ramon, highlights some accomplishments and  where we should be focusing for the future.

San Ramon is a great place to live – one of the safest and most family supportive cities in America. My wife and I proudly raise our daughters here. Serving you on the City Council is a great honor.

My goals as your representative are to protect and improve public safety, efficiently manage City finances and your tax dollars, and to preserve our beautiful open spaces.

Together we have made great strides in:

  •  Adding more police officers & achieving faster response times with San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District – making us one of the safest cities in America
  • Improving San Ramon’s City budget, maintaining a $25+ million reserve for emergencies, and reforming our employee pensions
  • Renovating our City library, building a new elementary school and City Hall, repaving our roads and maintaining our 60+ parks – all without incurring taxpayer debt

One of my most gratifying achievements is our renewed dedication to limiting unwanted development and preserving open space areas which makes San Ramon a special community, including:

  • Working with East Bay Regional Parks District to preserve 433 acres of open space in and around San Ramon
  • Creating an Open Space Advisory Committee and a $3.4 million fund dedicated to open space preservation
  • Funding Iron Horse Trail improvements, phase one of Rancho San Ramon Park, and opposing building a cemetery on Tassajara Valley open space property
  • Opposing any extensions or exceptions that would allow development outside San Ramon’s Urban Growth Boundary

While I am appreciative of our many accomplishments, I believe there is still much work ahead to preserve the quality of life we cherish as San Ramon residents.

Please know that, if re-elected, I will continue my work to represent you and the values we share. My door is always open. I welcome and appreciate your thoughts and comments. Thank you.
