As a board member, Calwa park need to be a place for children and families to come and enjoy themselves.
As Chairperson, it is our duty to ensure Calwa Park blossoms nd carries on its traditional events and activities.
As a resident and board member of Calwa Park, I can testify to just how much the park has thrived and flourished in recent years. The park has had incredible momentum and I ask that I continue this responsibility to the park and its residents. These are just a few hightlights of the management, beautification and respectable changes the park has established during my term as a board member. For the first time in over 20 years, Calwa Park has become self sufficient. With the collaboration of all board members through hard work of staff this is a huge accomplishment. Bathrooms have been renovated and in the process of remodeling other bathrooms. The Rocket ship has been recognized as a historical monument. Many events such as Hmong New year, the Oaxaca Festival and Annual Calwa Parks Trunk o Treat has brought many families to the park. The Annual Bizare Art Festival has brought people from all over California, to enjoy a wonderful day of participation and it has become one of the hightlights of the year. Kaarate and Zumba classes are a valuable asset to our community to enjoy. Food Distribution to the community and a Summer Food program for all children has become very popular. In the works is a project of bringing a Morning Farmers Market to support local farmers and community.
