My Top 3 Priorities

  • Responsible decision making to create a realistic and sustainable fiscal and improvement oriented operational environment.
  • Recruit and retain dedicated staff while providing them with the support and technology needed at all levels to ensure the highest level of patient care and outcomes.
  • Increased communication with our entire community regarding current improvement efforts and an honest conversation about how best to address the critical financial opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

Profession:Retired Educator
Board of Directors, Mendocino Coast Health Care District — Appointed position (2016–current)

San Diego State University B.A. M.A. , B.A. History with a Minor in Political Science M.A. Educational Administration (1978)

I have lived on the coast for the past 16 years and have developed a deep regard for our community and the importance of being active in supporting critical  institutions such as our hospital. I am married and have two grown children and three grandchildren. My 20 years of professional experience as a Public School Administrator, and my involvement with the Hospital Foundation along with other significant community programs and projects, enables me to bring a broad range of experience in governance, finance, leadership and results to the role of director. This work around the state and locally has provided me with the perspective that it is essential to work with my colleagues, hsopital staff and our entire coastal community to develop and implement sustainable strategies to enhance our safety net of essential healthcare services.

We live in a beautiful and isolated coastal environment and we are used to taking care of ourselves and one another. Our hospital is an essential component for both our econnomic and physical well being. I beleive that it is critical that we work together to ensure that all our citizens continue to have access to a caring and modern high-tech locally based health care system.
