My Top 3 Priorities

  • Retaining all essential services at Mendocino Coast District Hospital and improve community perception and participation in decisions the hospital faces.
  • Dicsovering long term solutions to the financial issues the hospital faces including exploring ways to minimize registry and out of town locums costs.
  • Engage in long range planning for the hospital with the community.

I am currently a part time instructor for Mendocino College. The skills I bring with this position are the ability to engage in critical thinking and problem solving with openness and respect for all participants. In addition, I have been a member of the Board of Directors for the Point Cabrillo Light Keepers Association since 2000. I have been the President of the PCLK Board since 2012. During this time I helped manage a $4 million restoration project that required reporting to two State agencies. More importantly, I helped with community outreach and advocacy during several crises that affected the Light Station and the PCLK. From 1982 to 1994 I worked in several academic research laboratories where my duties included assisting with management of research grants and reports to Federal and private grant agencies.
