My Top 3 Priorities

  • My top priorities are more protection for mobilehome owners through initiation of a Mobilehome Zoning Ordinance and ensure that fair standards for the mobilehome owners are written into the RIR.
  • Better planning and outreach to the business community when undertaking substantial roadway and community projects.
  • Give more respect and attention to the community needs. Residents take time to address the city council and their words fall of deaf ears. I will listen and engage in positive dialog to our residents' concerns.

Experience

Biography

Dear Fellow Carson Resident,

My name is Raul Murga and I am running for one of two seats on the city council in the City of Carson.

As a former Commissioner, and former Home Owners Association (HOA) President, I have worked and fought hard to maintain the Rent Control Ordinance. As the current President of H.A.R.D., Chairman of the Board of Directors of a non-profit corporation, Board Member of the VIP Seniors Club, and community volunteer, I have worked with community leaders, seniors, and elected officials. I have as much, if not more, diversified experience in the community and with the residents than any other candidate.

I am running for city council because I am deeply concerned about the current direction of our city. Sure the budget was balanced on time, but the reserve fund was used to create that balance. We need to be better at planning for the future. We need to reassess our spending and reinvest in the community including expanding programs for the children, veterans, and seniors. I am also very concerned about our affordable housing and the Mobilehome Moratorium. Under the current RIR (Relocation Impact Report) we are not doing enough to protect the rights of homeowners. Lastly, and of most concern to me, is the unfair distribution of city resources due to a flawed system. I have a plan to fix that.

A vote for me, Raul Murga, will be a vote for a bigger and stronger voice for you on your city council.
