I am a veteran community leader and have worked side-by-side with almost every organization in Malibu for 30 years. Building what I feel will create a Malibu we can ALL proudly call “home” no matter where we stand on an issue.

I have been married to my husband Greg for 27 years and together we have raised three children who have all gone through the Our Lady of Malibu, Juan Cabrillo, Malibu Middle and High School..

I proud to be endorsed by Malibu’s County and State Representatives

State Senator Fran Pavley

Los Angeles County Supervisor Sheila Kuehl

Assemblymember Richard Bloom

State Senator and Former SMMUSD BOE  Ben Allen

US Representative and Former Malibu Rep. Assembly & Former SMMUSD BOE  Julia Brownley

Eight former Malibu Mayors including current Mayor Lou La Monte

Malibu local leaders must also depend on strong ties with our county and state agencies and cities outside our city limits. My decades long relationship with my endorsers enables me to immediately step in and represent Malibu regarding public safety, traffic and water quality with County and State officials.

And with my five years service to the Governor's Commission in Sacramento, I will bring "Boots-On-The-Ground" experience as AMPS/Malibu pursues legislative action for an independent school district.

My service includes:

  • Co-Founder Advocates for Malibu Public Schools (AMPS)
  • Governor Schwarzenegger appointee to CA Special Education Advisory Commission
  • Co-founder and President of the Malibu Special Education Foundation since 2002
  • Parks and Recreation Commissioner
  • Member Malibu Business Roundtable
  • POINT DUME Services District, Appointee; Sheila Kuehl, current
  • Dolphin Award Recipient

      *    Malibu Times Mother of the Year 2015

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I am passionate about Malibu’s unique environment and rural vibe.  And the most important element I bring to the Council is my ability to being people of all sides together.  It's time to stop the acrimony and with 30 years experience in our community, I have the ability to cast a wide net and work with all members of our commniyt.

That is why I pledge to:

      *     Work to create independent school district

  • Purchase land for parks and open space
  • LOCAL LANDS IN LOCAL HANDS Reduce Commercial Development by purchasing Land
  • Continue to maintain fiscal responsibility
  • Create respectful community communication
  • Enforce and enhance city ban on pesticides and rodenticides in our mountains and trails
  • Protect trails, beaches and ocean
  • Increase recreational/community amenities
  • Implement PCH Safety Study/more CHP/light synchronization
  • Support retail formula IN ALL COMMERCIAL CENTERS  to protect and encourage local businesses
  • CREATE NEW REVENUE STREAM; Pop up “Malibu Surf Museum” and sell official city swag at pop-up store/visitor center locations throughout city to the 13 million visitors who drive through annually
