My Top 3 Priorities

  • Environmental Education: we can make better decisions about how to treat our surroundings if we have a comprehensive understanding of the consequences of our actions.
  • Access to Local Environmental Data: by making ecological information easily accessible, we can prioritize, strategize, and coordinate our positive efforts.
  • Access to Tools and Resources: when residents have access to basic tools and resources, they are empowered to take steps that contribute to the community and their environment in meaninful ways.

A native Angeleno with a passion to replenish and protect our water resources by building friendships + by exploring (and improving on) intelligent design.   Merrill is a humanitarian, one who is passionate about and interested in exploring every avenue, small and large, to protect and enhance our shared water resources.

Since water effects everyone equally, she works with everyone, regardless of their political or social beliefs, to further a human rights agenda that benefits everyone.

She enjoys working as a leader and providing a source of inspiration, however she also enjoys working together, side by side, and getting her hands dirty to help make great things happen.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Environmental Studies (Sustainable Communities), Philosophy) from UCSC Santa Cruz and a Professional Certificiate (Landscape Architecture) from UCLA Extension Landscape Architecture Program which she earned with Distinction. Her UCLA Thesis Project was awarded Highest Honors. Her gardens were awarded American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) honors and were named a Golden Arrow of Pasadena winner.
