What is the most significant challenge facing the Alpine Union School District, and if you are elected, what steps will you take to address it?
Answer from Louis Russo:

Alpine Union School District has spent $1 Million in lawsuits, money that should have been spent in the classroom.  I will press to cease all legal cases to conserve these funds.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Putting Alpine’s kids first is my campaign slogan and heartfelt dedication.

Alpine is a beautiful community and like you, I consider our children to be most precious and deserving of all of our efforts. Alpine Union School District is in need of school board members who are willing and able to provide the schools our children deserve.
I will strive to obtain smaller class sizes, fiscal responsibility and safety.

As a retired teacher, I am acutely aware of the role class size plays in the quality of education our children receive and I will press for small size.

I will ensure we spend the money the taxpayers have provided in a fiscally responsible manner, in the classrooms. You provide tax money for our children and I will fight to have it spent directly on their needs.

Finally, Alpine and the world has changed since you and I attended school. Our community has grown, and with it, traffic. I am proud to have been the guiding force behind the lighted crosswalk at Alpine Elementary and the solar powered traffic signs at Joan McQueen. As a board member I will push for further safety enhancements, including a crosswalk for our middle school.
