Questions & Answers

Questions from League of Women Voters of North County San Diego (1)

What is the most significant challenge facing the City of San Marcos, and if you are elected, what steps will you take to address it?
Answer from Sharon Jenkins:

Moving from at-large elections to district elections - overall residents think San Marcos is an amazing community to live in.  But, residents tell me they're not happy with our need to move to district elections.  They want to be able to vote for five council positions (Mayor and four council members) and not just two positions (Mayor and their own district).  They'e concerned future candidates/Councilmembers wil only focus on what's best for their district and not what's best for the City overall.  My role as a continuing Councilmember will be to encourage new Councilmembers to do what's best for the entire City and not focus on only their district.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Sharon's philosophy is simple - be an independent thinker, do your homework on a topic and always do the right thing for the San Marcos community.
