Political Philosophy

One of my favorite quotes is from Edmund Burke, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men [and women] to do nothing.” That is why I’m running for Mayor of Ridgecrest. I will bring a reasoned and rational approach to the city government that will protect the great things about this community such as our free spirit, patriotism, and family oriented way of life.

I have been a strong advocate to fix our streets, a vigilant watchdog to make sure our tax dollars are spent wisely, and a careful and steady policy maker focused on making solid rational decisions. Every year for the last four years on the city council I fought to pass a balanced budget. I stood against the bullying and guilt tactics used to bring in a casino and voted to protect our local economy and give the people a voice on the issue.

This community has been needlessly divided over controversial issues that degrades our trust in government. My goal as your mayor is to be the kind of leader that will unit this community and help the city government to reflect the great nature that this community already possesses.
