Biography

I have a passion for education, as my immigrant parents taught me to work hard, respect our elders, and earn a solid education.  I was born, rasied, and educated in Santa Clara Valley.  After graduating from Los Gatos High School, I was not sure where I wanted to go.  My counselor suggested West Valley Community College, and it was there, where I gained my self-confidence, and eventually transfered to San Jose State University.  I was the first, in my family to attend and graduated College, and I developed a passion, to help immigrant families like mine.  I met Cupertino Mayor Michael Chang, at De Azna College, where I was taking a class from the Asian Pacific American Leadership Institute, and he asked me, to apply for the Cupertino Planning Commission, which I was appointed to.  I was already active, in my daughter's School Site Council as Presdient, and our local Rotary Club, wihle serving on the Board of Directors, for the Cupertino Chamber of Commerce.  I was President-elect, of the Chmaber, before getting elected to the Cupertino City Council, in 2007 and re-elected in 2011, and was a two-time Mayor.  My experience, leadership, and commitment will help me, continue my passion for public service, and be the Education Advocate.
