My Top 3 Priorities

  • Continuity: It takes time to implement programs and initiatives in public education. SUSD is in the throes of planning & execution of the Middle School Task Force, deployment of math, writing, and science curricula, and technology integration.
  • Experience: in governance and education – I completed my Masters in Governance Training (2014) and have been a curriculum designer and trainer for 25 years.
  • Passion: about public education and student focused – I embrace public education for all the benefits it brings to students, family, and community. I pivoted my professional career from private sector to serve Silicon Valley's public schools.

I have been in the United States since 1991. First, in Boston (until 2003) and then Saratoga. My father was a commercial airline pilot and I was fortunate to travel the world with him. Travel, education, and service to the community were our family values. I went to unconventional schools in India and I experienced what it meant to love learning and life. These are the same values I instill in my family here. We travel, explore, and give back.

I have been honored to be serving the SUSD community in the capacity of Governing Board Trustee for the past 6 years. I wish to continue this service for the next 4 years.

I was elected to the SUSD Board of Trustees in 2010 for a 2 year term.

In 2012, I was re-elected, uncontested.
