My Top 3 Priorities

  • I am committed to supporting the growth of business in Imperial by encouraging new, innovative businesses to locate locally and still supporting those established business that are the heartbeat of our community.
  • Being the safest community in California doesn't mean we stop. I want independent civilian oversight of our Police Dept. I want to see our officers supported through hiring and training and introducing the use of Body Cameras.
  • I feel strongly that we need to continue to work to provide our children with access to park and pool facilities designed to welcome our growing community. I will be a strong advocate for a joint use aquatic facility in Imperial.

I was raised in Seeley, California and proudly proclaim my valley heritage and education.  I graduated with my BA and MA from SDSU-Calexico.  I am a lifelong educator, with 25 years of experience in edcuation in local schools and currently am privilaged to serve as the Principal of San Pasqual Valley High School in Winerhaven, CA.

In 2001 I was asked to serve on the Planning Commission for the city of Imperial, and in my 15 years of service as a planning commissioner I've been proud and fortunate to be a part of the tremendous growth and changes we've seen in our community.

I am a volunteer with Southwest Valley 4H, lucky to lead teams of great young people in our Knowledge Bowl Project.

As a membe of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, I've served as a choir member and Extra-ordinary Minister of the Eucharist, and am a member of the Knights of Columbus.

I'm also fairly well know as "Santa Claus" among local schools and community service agencies.  20 years of playing Santa for local kids has been a terrific blessing in my life.

As a husband and father I'm blessed to represent my family, and proud of their support and love.

As a teacher and administrator over the past 24 years, I’ve been a guide to my students as they have worked to find their own pathways to success while continuing to grow and contribute to our community.

Many of my former students at Central, Southwest and Holtville High are now education and community leaders in the Imperial Valley, and I am honored to have been a part of their educational experience.

As a father and community member, I am invested in our town's growth and success and I would welcome the chance to bring my lifetime of experience and passion to the service of Imperial as our town continues to change and grow.

Throughout my career I have endeavored to share and pass along any tool or idea which might make life a little better for my neighbors. Along the way I have learned from great leaders, and continue to strive to be a leader that others will respect and follow.

I hope you will consider supporting me as your choice for the Imperial City Council.
