My Top 3 Priorities

  • To bring a spirit of unity and civil constructive debate to the Tulare City Council.
  • To convey a message of reconciliation and optimism to the citizens of our community.
  • To share a vision of opportunity with those outside our community who may wish to invest or relocate here.

Hello, my name is Philip M. Smith and I’d like to introduce myself.  I’m running for Tulare City Council – District 3 and would appreciate your vote!

My family moved here in 1992 when a job brought me to Tulare.  Our daughters grew up in this community and my wife and I now entertain our grandchildren in the same home.  Tulare has been a great place to raise a family.

Working in commercial finance for more than 20 years, I have come to appreciate the sacrifices made by small business owners and their families as they work to establish successful organizations.  These local companies are the drivers of Tulare’s economy; they create jobs!

A graduate degree in business and service on the adjunct faculty of two local colleges has also provided me with an awareness of the crucial role that education plays in job preparation.

Roads, water, our police and fire departments, all provide the foundation that allows business to succeed.  Currently serving as Vice President on your Board of Public Utilities, and previously as Board Chair for the Tulare Chamber of Commerce and President of Tulare Rotary I intend to focus on local economic development.

Let’s talk BUSINESS!  Vote SMITH!
