Biography

I am a lifelong resident of the City of South Gate who cares about the City and is committed to serving this community to the best of my abilities. My strong management and financial background will contribute to moving the City towards a more prosperous future.

I am eager to begin working hard with city residents and leaders to make the City of South Gate a business-friendly environment that generates jobs for our residents and strengthens our neighborhoods and local economy.

As councilman, I will address the challenges facing South Gate, including infrastructure issues, limited parking and increased traffic, public safety needs, and most importantly, strengthening our local economy. The City of South Gate needs to develop a “culture of involvement” in which the community comes together not only to face future challenges, but also to capitalize on future opportunities.

I am the second oldest of four children raised by a hard-working Mexican immigrant couple. The value of knowledge, hard work, and sacrifice has always been a guiding force in everything I attempt in life —this is primarily due to my family’s upbringing.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in management and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Pepperdine University. I have over 15 years of combined business experience in real estate investments, marketing, distribution, and inventory management within the automotive industry.

I have served my community alongside the Southeast Los Angeles Civic Leaders Network (SELA-CLN, www.civicleaders.weebly.com) and CSULB's Center for Community Engagement (CCE) organizing U.S. citizenship workshops, educational forums for parents on topics such as, charter schools, traditional public schools, and bullying. One of our most exciting projects as an organization was to be involved in CicLAvia in the City of South Gate and neighboring communities.
