Biography

 

Michael Allawos grew up in Downey, California where he watched the Apollo program literally being built in his backyard.  In the late seventies his family moved to West Covina.  He graduated from West Covina High School in 1980.  He married his wife Cynthia in 1986 and they resided in West Covina until 1999 where they then moved to Glendora with their two children, Melina and Zachery.

 

 

 

The Allawos’ have been deeply involved in community service.   Cynthia was the past PTA President for La Fetra Elementary School and was a PTA Board Member at Sandburg Middle School.  She is currently the PTA President at Glendora High School along with being a Glendora Police Auxiliary volunteer.  Daughter Melina has over eight hundred hours of volunteer service at Foothill Presbyterian and Queen of the Valley hospitals.  Son Zachary has over three hundred hours of community service in conjunction with being an Eagle Scout from Troup 491.

 

 

 

Michael has been on several local committees, including LeRoy Haynes Boy’s Home, Claremont of the School of Religion, Saint Dorothy Adoration and Saint Dorothy Oak Tree Festival.  He is currently a member of the Knights of Columbus, advisor to the Oak Tree Festival Committee and a Saint Dorothy Eucharistic Minister.

 

 

 

His manufacturing career has spanned over 34 years.  In 1985 he was the founder and President of Mikana Mfg. Co., Inc.  This company manufactured specialty precision hardware for aerospace, communications, information technology, medical and terrestrial industries.  The company partnered with NASA on the Mars Exploration Rover.   It worked with Lockheed Martin, The Boeing Company, Bausch & Lomb and Beckman Coulter and Zimmer.

 

 

 

In 1989 Michael started Allasoft where he was President and Chief Executive Officer.  Allasoft was on the forefront of highly configured barcode shipping labels, along with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software installations around the world.  It provided integrated automated job tracking and costing software.

 

 

 

In 2000 Michael and twelve others founded Southland Business Bank in Irwindale, CA.  He served as the Chairman of the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) Committee, Chairman of Policies and Procedures and was a member of the Loan Committee.  Vineyard Bank then acquired Southland Business Bank where he became Chairman of Vineyard Bank’s Irwindale Advisory Board.

 

 

 

In 2007, Michael became the Chief Operating Officer for California Energy and Power.  He was selected by the Department of Defense as a winner from CTSI (Clean Technology and Sustainable Industries Organization) Defense Energy Challenge.  He holds a Fluid Turbine System patent for the renewable energy industry.

 

 

 

Michael started Allawos & Company in 2011.  He is President and Chief Executive Officer of this global business consulting firm that enables organizations around the world to identify and enhance their business opportunities through creative engagements.  The company services start-ups to Fortune 50 companies, providing business plans and executive coaching to co-ownership of U.S. international companies.

 

 

 

With extensive experience in international relations, Michael has served as a member of the Los Angeles International Visitors and Protocol Foundation, along with the Los Angeles World Affairs Council.  He has hosted dignitaries from Jordan, Austria, Chile, China, Russia, Switzerland, France and numerous African countries.  He was bestowed the rare “Golden Eagle” medal of service from the President of Austria.  His lobbying efforts have taken him to the California State Capital along with the U.S. Congress.

 

 

 

Michael was nominated for three years for the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year” award and became a semi-finalist one of those times.  He has received NASA recognition and appreciation in support of the Mars Exploration Rover program, Recognition Award from the Los Angeles Consular Corps., Small Business of the Year Award, Invalid Valley Economic Development Corp. and garnered the Small Business Award from the California Senate.
