Profession:Law Enforcement Technician
Law Enforcement Technician, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (1997–current)
Commissioner, Public Safety & Community Services Commission — Appointed position (2015–current)
Committee Member, Measure AA — Appointed position (2014–current)

I am a dedicated, homegrown leader.  My children represent the fourth generation of our family to call Commerce home.

As a law enforcement professional for nearly 20 years, community policing is who I am. My primary responsibility is deploying law enforcement resources to local communities. Your safety is my mission.

As a community advocate I serve on the Commerce Public Safety & Community Services Commission and the Measure AA Advisory Committee.  In these capacities, I’ve worked hard to help enhance public safety, as well as improve our city streets and facilities to better serve Commerce residents.

Currently, I am pursuing a degree in Organizational Management from the University of La Verne to expand my knowledge and strengthen my leadership.

My goal is simple: to do the work of the people by ensuring a safe, secure community; establishing a smart development plan to create good paying jobs; enhancing quality of life for our residents and employees; and strengthening the city’s Green Zones policy with a focus on social, economic and environmental sustainability.

A vote for me is a vote for a proven leader who will work with YOU to build a better Commerce for youth, families and seniors.  On June 6 vote JOHN SORIA, #4 on your a ballot!
