  • Continue to work to improve public safety for all residents in the "Heights"
  • Preserving our Rual Environment in the "Heights"
  • Restore transparency and accountability with the City Council and the City

Community Activities

Volunteer, Los Angeles County Sheriff (2002–current)
Council, Fire Safe Council/Fire Watch of La Habra Heights, Inc. (2008–current)
Steering Committee & Team Member, Disaster Steering Committee & Advanced CERT Team - City of La Mirada (2009–current)
Committee Member, Whittier Community Disaster Preparedness Committee (2014–current)
Committee Member, La Habra Heights Emergency Preparedness Committee (2005–2009)

I am a retired technical director of an engineering laboratory specializing in failure analysis and accident reconstruction. My formal degrees are in Physics and Mathematics.  Over the years, I have preferred to serve my community in various positions that generate little personal recognition. I have, for many years, patrolled our city as a trained sheriff volunteer.

I am currently a member of Los Angeles County’s community-based Disaster Communications Service and was a member of our city’s Emergency Preparedness Committee (a team of FEMA-qualified, disaster service resident volunteers) until it was abolished by the council.

Political Philosophy

I am grateful for having had the opportunity of growing up in our unique rural community for the past 60+ years. The only way I can repay those who preserved the rural environment that I have loved so much is to work to ensure that today’s residents, their children and future generations have the same opportunity.

I believe the best way to judge whether candidates will keep their promises is to look at what they have done in the past.  I invite my fellow “Heights” residents to look at what I have worked for in our community, long before I ever considered running for city council.
