Biography

Danny Fierro is a proud product of the ABC Unified School District and believes deeply in the promise of our public schools. He attended both Cerritos and Stowers Elementary Schools before graduating from Whitney High. With the support of his family, scholarships, and work-study jobs, he graduated from Yale University, where he met his wife, Felicia. Together, they have made Cerritos the home where they will start their family.

With the skills he learned from his teachers, Danny is now the principal owner and CEO of a public affairs consulting firm. In this role, he advises elected officials, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private-sector businesses. As a small business owner, Danny has made it a priority to give back to his community by creating jobs and internships for local ABC graduates, helping them gain valuable experience, learn crucial professional skills, and earn fair wages. In addition, he serves on the ABC Unified School District's Strategic Planning Board Advisory Committee.

Danny's mother, Maria, has taught in the ABC Unified School District for more than 35 years, educating students at Cerritos, Whitney, and Artesia High Schools. She instilled in him the importance of community and public education: these values drove Danny to serve as the principal district education deputy for the Majority Leader of the California State Assembly. While there, he built coalitions among cities, school districts, and residents to advance projects that have benefitted ABC students and families throughout the Southeast Los Angeles County region. He assisted schools in applying for and winning over $15,000 in grants to fund science and arts education programs, and helped them navigate the state government bureaucracy to advocate for our students.
