My Top 3 Priorities

  • Teacher Support: Quality pay for quality educators, collaborative efforts between all parties in the community, so that the teachers are supported.
  • Closing the achievement gap: If teachers have support, they can focus on providing quality education to all children in our district.
  • Community relations: We need to make quality education a top priority in the community's eyes. This will result in a harmonious ecosystem for the community.

Hi, I'm Rebecca Hitchcock, a lifelong San Mateo resident, San Mateo-Foster City School District alumni, Early Education Director, and am passionate about our future.

My professional experience includes working with the middle and high school populations in after school programs and teaching in the early education field for over 15 years, preparing these children to be succesful in kindergarten and beyond, which has inspired me to actively participate in the next steps for our community's children. It is incumbent upon the community, School Board, and Department of Education, to start thinking outside the box, for innovative ways to achieve our goals.

I look forward to working with the community.

Thank you for your support.
