My Top 3 Priorities

  • Supporting Small Business - Block harmful ordinances and zoning
  • Protecting Residents from Crime - Empower local law enforcement
  • Greater transparency - Work on better communication between the city and its residents

Brian Avery was born in Lancaster, CA and has been a life long resident of the Antelope Valley.  While attending the University of California, Riverside, Brian developed an interest in craft beer and home brewing.  After graduating, Brian continued to hone his home brew abilities and took a job at an Orange County craft brewery.        In 2011 Brian co-founded Bravery Brewing Company which would open its doors in Lancaster the following year.  Since 2012, Bravery Brewing has seen massive growth and expansion, becoming a true pillar of the community.  Giving back in any way possible is very important to Brian and his partners.  A few ways Bravery gives back are by holding First Responder Days, donating beer to charitable festivals and hosting veterans from the William J. "Pete" Knight Veterans Home.       Brian currently sits on the California Craft Brewers Association's Government Affairs Committee.  The Association works to protect California craft brewers from harmful laws and policies.  Recently, Brian played an active role in combating Lancaster City's Ordinance 1013 which would have been devastating to all Antelope Valley brewers as well as Lancaster alcohol retailers.  Brian continues to focus on the growth of his business, his relations with small local businesses, and advocating overall for the local community.
