Biography

 My family has been in Alameda County since 1885. I have been a member of Alameda County Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board since 2010, writing legal findings and establishing valuation for hundreds of properties.

 

I am proud omy public service: Colonel, decorated veteran, United States Air Force; Director, Alameda County Water District; Trustee, Ohlone Community College District; City of Fremont Regulatory Reform Commission; Alameda County Democratic Central Committee. 

I retired with the rank of Colonel from the United States AIr Force Reserves. My military assignments nlcuded Mobilization Augmentee Civil Engineer Pacific Air Forces, and US Air Force Fire Marshal with funtoinal management of 13,000 firefighters at 162 locations world-wide. As well as a Vietnam Veteran.

Summary

Commitment to lowest Property Taxes for homes and businesses. 

I am committed to achieving the lowest permissible property taxes on your home or business. I strongly support ballot initiative requiring corporations to pay their fair share of property taxes, therefore I am not a member of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayer Association. The Alameda County Assessor appraises 456,000 parcels with tax role valuations of $265 billion, and 47,000 business personal property accounts. I have successfully managed large, publicly accountable, organizations.

 

Dealing with complex appraisal issues demands more than a high school diploma. My education includes: Master Business Administration - Finance; Juris Doctor (Law degree); and a Bachelor of Science Civil Engineering.

I have been a member of Alameda County Property Tax Assessment Appeals Board since 2010, writing legal findings and establishing valuation for hundreds of properties. I am an attorney (California Bar) focused on establishing valuations for hundreds of properties.

 

My family has been in Alameda County since 1885. I will run an effective and responsive Alameda County Assessor Office.
