My Top 3 Priorities

  • Ensure that neighborhoods in District 8 are affordable and healthy: Work to make rent and home ownership more affordable. Develop and strengthen public/private job creation partnerships and local hiring.

Biography

Four generations of my family live in San Diego’s District 8. This is the community in which Edna, my wife and partner of 18 years, and I purchased our house and where we are raising our son, Diego.

For over 20 years I have advocated to protect the quality of life of our communities and have fought to ensure that working families are treated with dignity and respect.

I’ve seen how communities have been forgotten by City Hall.  I’ve seen broken promises, failure of leadership, decisions made behind closed doors or decisions made to benefit personal and special interests. I’ve seen lack of commitment when elected leaders use City Hall as a stepping stone to advance their political careers.
