What can you do as a City Council member to address the issue of homelessness in Oakland?
Answer from Charlie Michelson:

In order to tackle our city’s homelessness crisis, we must deal with the root causes of homelessness, including mental health and treatment for addiction. To that end, I support Oakland’s push for ‘Navigation Centers,’ a new method of dealing with homelessness and encampments holistically that has already shown tremendous results in Berkeley and San Francisco. On City Council, I will move Oakland toward Navigation Centers with a supportive housing component and find ways to expand funding.
