My Top 3 Priorities

  • State of the Art Facilities: Every FUSD student deserves state of the art schools to prepare them for the 21st century workforce. FUSD schools are overcrowded, and I will work to pursue long range solutions including a new facilities bond.
  • Highly Qualified Educators and Support Staff: Every FUSD student deserves highly qualified teachers and staff who can afford to live in our community. I will work to increase general fund revenue from state and local sources.
  • Safe and Inclusive Schools: Every FUSD student deserves to attend schools where they feel valued and accepted. Fremont’s diversity is a strength to be celebrated. I will work to close achievement gaps so every student can succeed.

I am a twenty-one year resident of Fremont, mother of three, substitute teacher, school volunteer, and UC Berkeley graduate. Prior to having children, I worked for the California Attorney General's Office as a Litigation Support Project Manager in both Sacramento and San Francisco. In 2009, my work on school safety was recognized by State Senator Ellen Corbett. I’ve been honored to receive PTA’s Gold Oak Award in addition to an Honorary Service Award from Fremont Council PTA.

As a substitute teacher in FUSD for the past two years, I have gained first-hand classroom experience working with students and seeing some of the challenges our teachers and students face every day.  I was proud to serve on the FUDTA Human Rights and Equity Committee in 2017/18.

My community volunteer experience includes:

  • CERT Volunteer:  Work with the City of Fremont Fire Department to train and respond to disaster following National FEMA protocol.

  • Sidelines Volunteer: Assist women experiencing high risk pregnancies with support and information.

  • La Leche League Leader:  Assist breastfeeding mothers meet their goals.  Coordinate and run monthly support group meetings.

  • GSA Network Policy Intern:  Assist GSA Network monitoring the FAIR Education Act implementation

  • 4H Volunteer

  • Coastal Cleanup Volunteer

As a school board trustee, I pledge to work with parents, educators, administrators, support staff, and students to address our challenges and build on our successes to empower students to pursue further education, enter the job market, and become engaged citizens.
