I have lived and served in the Oro Loma Sanitary District for more than 38 years, including service as Mayor (and City Council) of San Leandro from 1996-2006. Prior to service in San Leandro, I was appointed by several mayors of Oakland and the Governor of the State of California to public service for a number of nonprofit boards and committees for more than 30 years. I was elected to Oro Loma in 2014 and am currently serving as President of the Board of Directors. I possess the knowledge, education and experience to address our wastewater collection and treatment needs while continuing to provide innovative and cost-effective solid waste and recycling services. I also serve as the Oro Loma representative for StopWaste, a county-wide organization managing recycling/waste reduction services. These agencies are responsible for the environmental choices and changes that make us so much more productive and mindful of waste reduction and recycling. I am keenly aware of the blight that contaminates all of our neighborhoods and am helping work on solutions with community members. I have the proven tools to assist the District in decisions regarding our future. I feel very fortunate to be part of a team of board and staff members at Oro Loma that offers innovative thinking focused on our future. I respectfully ask for your continued support on November 6th.

Political Beliefs
Political Philosophy
I have served in positions of public trust for more than 38 years and enjoy representing my community. Many of the agencies I represented in my past work have helped me understand the complexities of public service and how to best represent the people who are busy raising their families and still working. I look forward to continuing my current service in environmental improvements and waste reduction and prevention.
