Biography

I was born and raised in Alexander Valley, CA. My dad was the city attorney in Santa Rosa when I was growing up, and my mom still works at Alexander Valley School as a bilingual aide. City issues were a common conversation around the dinner table and both parents instilled in me the value of working hard to serve the public good.  I  have lived in St. Helena for seven years with my husband and two children who are six and eight years old. My children attend St. Helena Primary and Elementary Schools.

I received my BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, majoring in Communications and Spanish and received a Master’s Degree in Organizational Development from Pepperdine Business School. I have experience working for both non-profit and for-profit organizations.  I provide consulting services to organizations that want to create positive work environments with a focus on leadership and engagement.

As a resident of St. Helena, I have been focused on raising my children, community organizing and becoming an active advocate and volunteer in the St. Helena School District and with the city.

In 2017/18 my community work has included:

  • Vice-Chair for St. Helena SHAPE (Saint Helena Asset Planning and Engagement) Committee
  • Academic Excellence Committee Member for SHUSD
  • Vice President of the Parent Teacher Group for Saint Helena Primary and Elementary Schools
  • Steering Committee Member for the “Give Big” annual fundraiser
  • Weekly volunteer at SHPS & Assistant Soccer Coach for St. Helena Park & Recreation
  • Steering Committee member for Rock the Congress: Napa Valley
  • Vice President of the Democrats of Napa Valley Club

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I'm running for City Council because I care deeply about our town’s unique character and natural beauty; its history and future; and overall sense of community. As a mother of two with kids in our schools, I care about high quality public education. I have extensive experience in business (organizational development) and community organizing, informing my belief that the most effective way to achieve results is by bringing people together to work toward shared goals. My background has given me the skills to do this. I am committed to listening, learning and finding solutions that offer positive outcomes; I value transparency, collaboration and opportunity for all.

I will work to preserve Saint Helena’s character and community, while continuing to promote economic opportunity necessary for our future. I will stand up for families, seniors and people from all economic and ethnic backgrounds. I believe climate change is a threat to our environment, economy and safety and will work to make sure we are doing everything possible to explore solutions, while preparing for its impacts. As a 5th generation Californian, I care about keeping our small community accessible and healthy for generations to come.
