Biography

I am passionate about our schools and have the background and experience to serve all our students.

I want to give back to my community as a board member, leveraging my professional expertise, school involvement, district understanding and collaborative style to deliver solutions to CUSD challenges.

I am a Carmel native who attended Carmel Unified School District schools.  My husband and I have twin sixth-grade boys at Carmel Middle School and a one-year old daughter.  After earning a Bachelor’s degree in media and communications, I worked in public relations in the Silicon Valley for 15 years before returning home four years ago.

My commitment to CUSD at Carmel River School included classroom parent volunteer, PTA president for two years, vice president for one, and site council member for three years.  I received the Outstanding Volunteer Award from the CUSD Board in 2016.   CUSD must be a safe and welcoming district for all learners while examining innovative ways to provide strong academics, art, music and vocational opportunities.  Excellent schools form the foundation of society and require strong stewardship.  I am not afraid of making tough decisions, so all students gain the knowledge and skills for the best possible start in life.
