Summary

Reasons for Becoming a Candidate.

My decision is to be a trustee candidate for Area 2 for the South Orange County Community College District was solely a result that no adult resident of Area 2 has stepped up to face an unopposed incumbent since 2010.  Given the challenges that community colleges face, it is important that all stakeholders within our community be engaged through dialogue with our elected SOCCCD leaders to shape the future of our colleges.  Student completion is vital, especially those who struggle.

This is a nonpartisan position. I have no endorsements.  I don't represent any political party. I am not spending one penny on the campaign. Without any competition this election year in the South Orange County Community College District, we allow our representatives to continue in their trustee roles.  I give credit and thanks to those who serve.  However, I am disappointed that others, including many of our young adult residents have not given this elected position consideration. I hope that changes in future election years.

The South Orange County Community College District is a great institution with an abundance of students working hard to be prepared for their next life step.  They are enriched by the faculty and staff that serve them.
